Blending coastal charm with child-friendly comfort, the Gwelva Hills eco-friendly Lodges are ideal spaces for bringing family together. There are nine unique lodges to choose from, each named after a local Bude beauty spot.

Step inside and you’ll be drawn to the large open plan living area, flooded with natural light from floor to ceiling windows. These charming spaces open straight out onto the decking, from which your family can enjoy BBQ’s, downtime, and sunsets with coastal views.

The bedrooms are designed to accommodate family living, with bedding and linens provided for your comfort. Each property boasts one king-sized room, and a second with a zip-link mattress that converts to two twin beds. Duckpool, Hartland, Northcott, Sandymouth, and Trebarwith also boast a third twin bedroom. All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms with rainforest showers, underfloor heating, and towels provided for your ease and comfort.

The open plan kitchen, dining, and lounge areas are perfect for enjoying family time together. Kick back and enjoy movie nights in front of your smart TV before gathering round the stylish dining table for dinner time.

Eat

Each of the Lodges are fully equipped with everything you’ll need to cook up your favourite family meals. These stylish, self-catering spaces feature appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, oven, fridge-freezer, and a coffee machine.

Wooda also boasts an impressive range of eateries and drink spots. Moo & Brew at the Yard is Wooda’s main restaurant, serving up an iconic menu of Wooda staples and specials between Thursdays and Sundays in the summer season. The Yard also hosts an exciting range of Street Food Style Pop Up Vans, subject to schedule throughout the summer. From Thai to Greek, and Chinese to Sri-Lanken, enjoy a range of global dishes made to order on site.

The Lodge Takeaway –

Serving up a selection of takeaway favourites including fish and chips, pizzas, salads, and breakfast too, The Lodge is the perfect pit stop for an easy dinner time treat.

Opening times vary throughout the year, with dinner-time favourites served Wednesday to Monday from 5pm to 9pm during School Holidays, and 5pm to 7.30pm in the Mid Season

The Loft at The Yard –

Enjoy a coffee, cake, or soft drink in the Coffee Lounge, and, in the evenings, kick back, relax and enjoy Cornish beers and cocktails in the Loft Bar. With happy hours, socials, and a program of live local music throughout the summer, this is the perfect place for parents to rewind and for the kids to socialise.

Activities

At Wooda, family-friendly fun comes first. With a host of exciting activities, events, and experiences readily available to you and the kids on-site, you’ll find your holiday itinerary taken care of. Start your day with a walk through the woods or share breakfast with the farm animals! Here’s a little more of what’s in store for you and the kids…

Sports – for the sports-obsessed, a round on the pitch ‘n’ put or match on the tennis and badminton courts is an absolute must. All activities are available to book daily at reception, with golf priced at £3 per person, per round, and court rental £5 per hour.

Kids are also invited to book onto a football or archery coaching session over school holidays. These lessons offer the perfect opportunity for parents to enjoy some down time, or to check out the fully-equipped on-site gym.

Crafts and Play – there are plenty of creative activities for little ones to enjoy at Wooda. From arts and crafts to pottery painting and pop-up play, imaginations are free to run wild. For general play, toddlers can run around the Toddler Play Zone while big kids enjoy the incredible outdoor playground. There’s also a games room on site for rainy days, equipped with pool tables, table tennis, and a television area.

Nature and Extras – at Wooda, there’s plenty to see and do in the great outdoors. Out on the grounds there are friendly farm animals to greet, nature trails to explore, and tractor rides for little ones to enjoy. Over in the Yard, families can also enjoy live music, food specials, and, for the grown-ups, a cocktail bar happy hour (or two).

Accessibility

Access to the farm area is steep due to it being set in a valley; therefore not so accessible for wheelchairs. There is, however, a tarmacked path running from the park to the farm, fully lit and suitable for wheelchairs and mobility vehicles.

• Level access is provided to The Courtyard

• The Loft is partially accessible throughout – there are a few steps between the split level, but once inside it is level. The courtyard area leading into the games room is also level access.

• There is a gentle slope up to the Sports Barn where level access is provided to the badminton and tennis courts. Disabled toilet facilities are also provided in the sports barn.

• The Pitch ‘n’ Putt course is set on a slope and therefore only accessible for those with reasonable mobility.

• The Woodland walk is set in a valley, therefore, this is not overly accessible for wheelchairs. However, there is road access for the fishing lakes which has disabled access. Please ask at reception for more information.

Where is it and how do you get there?

By Road

Wooda is just 2 miles from the centre of Bude and is fully accessible by car with parking available on site.

By Air

Cornwall Airport Newquay is the nearest airport to Bude, with direct flights from airports across the UK and Ireland, as well as some destinations in Europe. Car hire is available on arrival in Newquay, with the drive to Bude.

By Rail

Bude itself has no train station, but nearby Okehampton has connections to Exeter, and then to London. On arrival at Okehampton, or other nearby towns such as Plymouth, Bideford, or Barnstaple, guests can take advantage of Cornwall’s fantastic local bus routes.

Wooda is rooted in my family's history as we have owned and operated the park since it opened in 1975. As a member of the Colwill family, I am passionate about growing, developing, and maintaining its family-oriented ethos. I’ve always had a vision to build eco lodges at Wooda with a focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility. My son in law built them with his team so it's even more of a family affair!

We value the loyalty of our guests as their continued support. Our community reflects the values that the Colwill Family holds dear, making Wooda Farm not just a business, but a cherished family legacy. In 2025, we are excited to be celebrating our 50th anniversary!
