About Nook End, Alnwick

Exceptionally child/baby friendly stone cottage close to the fishing villages of Beadnell and Seahouses, just a mile from Beadnell beach and with superb open views. Set in tranquil countryside in the hamlet of Swinhoe, with large child friendly gardens, it is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Ideally placed for exploring the magnificent Northumbrian coast and just 15 minutes from the famous 'Harry Potter' Alnwick Gardens. Super games room with full size table tennis table plus large gardens with children's play equipment.

Nook End comprises of 2 double bedrooms, one with a king size bed, and a twin room with handmade gallery bed and single bed. The galley bed is more suitable for children although it is a full size single bed. Nook End has a family bathroom with hand shower and a newly installed ground floor separate shower room and W/C with walk in shower.

Ideal for children, lots of activities available at both cottages - swings, trampoline, games room.

Just a mile from Beadnell beach and close to the fishing village of Seahouses, Nook End provides a first class, 5 star retreat. Situated in the small hamlet of Swinhoe, on the outskirts of Beadnell, it is handy for all the best beaches and the villages of Beadnell, Seahouses, Newton and Craster. Only 15 minutes drive to Alnwick Gardens and less than 10 mins drive to Bamburgh Castle. With superb open views of the sea and Bamburgh Castle, the gardens, games room and children’s play area make it a popular choice with discerning families.

Terms & conditions


Prices are fully inclusive, so you won’t be asked to take any meter readings or to bring your own sheets! As five star homes, prices include everything. On top of this, you’ll find the cottages to be exceptionally well equipped, so you won’t have to bring the kitchen sink!

The prices include all fuel, some logs for the fire (if your cottage has a log burner), bed linen and duvets, towels, afternoon tea tray with Northumbrian cake, lovely designer toiletries and a decent bottle of wine chilling in the fridge.


Upon acceptance of your order the owner will take payment from you of a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the price. The balance of all bookings must be paid no later than two calendar months before the start date of your booking. If you make a booking less than two calendar months before the start date of your Holiday the owner will take payment from you for the full balance of the booking.

Check in & out

Changeover days are normally Fridays and Mondays. We are happy to take weekly bookings starting and finishing on a Monday as well as a Friday. The Monday changeovers are becoming increasingly popular. Out of season, we can sometimes be a bit flexible so tell us your specific requirements and we will see what we can do for you.

Cancellation policy

A change to your Holiday will incur an administration fee of £50 and additional fees may be incurred where you have changed to different dates or a more expensive property. This fee will just about cover the time involved in changing paperwork and informing the owners and cleaning/housekeeping/welcome and hamper teams.

If the owner is unable to accommodate a change to your Holiday, your original booking will continue to be valid unless cancelled in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. If you decide to cancel your booking you will be responsible for any cancellation charges that may apply.

Cancelling of a booking with more than 2 calendar months from the holiday the full deposit is payable. Cancellation within 0 – 2 calendar months then 100% of full cost charge is payable.


You are also invited, to use the facilities at the new private Ocean Club in Seahouses. At a specially reduced rate (£6 per adult, £3 per child, babies under 2 have free admission and there is free parking) you can use the pool, children’s pool, gym, sauna, hot tub and café at any time of day. Ideal as a wet weather retreat or as a place to chill out after a day on the beach! You will also be entitled to specially negotiated beauty treatment packages - superb deals at very reasonable prices.
