About Glynn Barton Cottages

This place just ticks all the boxes for everything you could possibly want for a fabulous family holiday

Glynn Barton dates back to the early 18th century and is approached by a long private drive, two miles from the hamlet of Cardinham in North Cornwall. The attractive eight toddler friendly cottages can sleep up to 7 people and provide a perfect location for a family holiday to explore Cornwall. Set in beautiful surroundings with all the first class facilities, including pool and daily animal feeds, you will be able to relax and know that there is enough to keep everyone happy without having to get in the car.

Whether it's the heated swimming pool, playing on the tennis courts or feeding the animals, there is something to keep your children amused all the time at Glynn Barton Cottages. In fact it's such a heavenly place the hard bit is trying to tear the kids away from the facilities and get out and about to explore the glorious Cornish location.

The Child Friendly Cottages

Holiday accommodation is in a choice of eight pretty stone-built cottages all recently renovated and boasting light and spacious contemporary country-style interiors with elegant but comfy sofas, smooth wooden and slate floors, and shaker-style kitchens. All the cottages are unique and of a high standard excellently restored from the original stone and slate with beautiful exposed beams.  Whatever time of year they are always warm and welcoming with central heating and cast iron stoves.  They are all very well equipped with cots, highchairs, built in stairgates, bed guards, monitors, food blenders and child friendly crockery and cutlery.  A babysitting service can be arranged.

Exploring the Grounds and Meeting the Animals

Whatever age your children are there is a huge amount to do at Glynn Barton.  The beautiful landscaped grounds are private and secluded, being almost a mile from a public road, and are a wonderful and safe place for children to run around and enjoy all the facilities.  For many children the highlight of their holiday is the daily animal feeding. Every morning for about 30 minutes the children can help hand feed Jock and Rory the highland cows, Preston and Huxley the kune kune pigs, Muffin and Crumpet the donkeys, the sheep and collect the freshly laid eggs from the chickens.

Family Friendly Facilities

The excellent facilities will keep everyone happy from babies to grandparents.  Have fun in the swimming pool which is kept at toasty average of 88°.  Enjoy a game of tennis located high above the cottages with stunning views down the valley or just relax, put your feet up and read a magazine while the children play in the Playroom or Soft Play Barn - a favourite hang out for the parents and little ones and the perfect escape to give mum or dad a lie in.  A playground with swings, slides and a climbing frame has just been added.  For less clement conditions, a good selection of videos can be found in the games room, which features pool and table football, as well as a selection of toys.  All the children's facilities are no more than two minutes walk from the cottages, but far enough away from the cottage gardens to preserve your peace & tranquillity.

Holiday Extras

Two barbecue sites have been provided which leads to a great deal of socialising among the guests, whilst taking advantage of the baby monitors which are thoughtfully supplied.  A great bonus for parents is the shop stocked with local treats and home cooked frozen meals.  The owners can even arrange for to deliver groceries to the estate.  Outside caterers can be booked if you need a break from cooking.  Feeling a bit frazzled after a long drive?  You can de-stress with a soothing massage.

Location and Things to Do in Cornwall

The cottages are located within easy reach of both the North and South Cornish coasts - being only ½ hours drive.  It is a perfect location to explore Cornwall with its wealth of attractions, houses and gardens, beautiful beaches and the highly acclaimed Eden Project.  There are also Forest Walks around the cottages which are perfect buggy terrain and if you fancy horse riding there are stables 8 miles away.
