Child friendly glamping, Somerset – West Hayes, Halse, Taunton, Somerset

About The Treehouse & The Apple Treehouse

It's been such a long time since I camped out in a treehouse - these Treehouses surpass any other!!

Just a tad different you might say to those that we might have built in our childhood. Both of these treehouses are simply stunning.

Both The Treehouse and The Apple Treehouse are  set around old lime trees the decor is exquisite, the views stupendous, the facilities fabulous and Kate has everything - EVERYTHING - you may need for you or your children - you simply can't go wrong! A family of up to 5/6 can enjoy this experience - it's better than a famous five adventure for the kids - sleeping in cosy bunks in a treehouse – whilst you slumber in a huge cosy bed practically under the stars above.

The Treehouse

"The leaves of the magnificent lime tree gently stroke the cedar shingle and timber clad exterior, whilst the fabulous starlit Somerset skies can be glimpsed through the fairytale triangular skylights and the sensational opening triangular windows”.  Are you there yet?

The master bedroom is entered by climbing a  spiral staircase where you'll enjoy the fabulous starlit Somerset skies through the fairytale triangular skylights and the sensational opening triangular windows!  The six foot white iron bed lies beneath a triangular skylight where you can lie in bed within the tree's canopy and under the stars!  Until the kids wake up ...

Your stay at the Treehouse will be thoughtfully tailored to your needs prior to you and the clan arriving.  That means as well as the Egyptian cotton linen, fluffy towels, flowers, cosy bathrobes, toiletries and complimentary basket of seasonal local produce for you all to enjoy you will also have all the bits and bobs necessary for the kids including age graded baskets of toys, games, books and DVDs.  There is also baby equipment galore including high chairs, bumbo seats and buggies to free up valuable car space.

Practically the house has the safety issues covered; stair gates are fitted and spare sockets are filled with socket guards and bed guards ensure no waking up with a big bump. There is plastic cutlery, plates and beakers in the kitchen, as well as a blender for whizzing up baby food and all the 21st century appliances you might need including dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, oven, hob and fridge freezer to create the ultimate in self-catering luxury.  You can even have the fridge and shelves stocked up with your weekly shop from the co-operative of Exmoor and Quantock producers; that’s local food direct to you – very few food miles there!  Or for even greater decadence – you are on holiday after all – why not plan the week with delicious locally prepared ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook meals that are available to order once your booking is confirmed.

In the living area a fabulous wood-burning stove will be laid ready to go; designed to compliment the under-floor heating. The squishy sofas are perfect for relaxing whilst a plasma television with Freeview channels, an i-Pod docking station and stereo along with a small library of DVDs and CDs suitable for all ages provide the in-house entertainment.

French doors open onto the decking at the front of the Treehouse with stylish outdoor furniture as well as a cedar hot tub!  The magical lighting makes it a perfect spot for evenings relaxing over supper or simply a drink once the children are settled.

The garden is totally enclosed so need to fret about wandering off.  A selection of garden toys suitable for younger children, i.e. trikes, playhouse and see-saw are available should you want them.  Otherwise the children can enjoy the wooden play area or enjoy the animals around.

Taking the environment to heart the Treehouse has been designed to have as minimal an impact as possible.  Furthermore, for every booking made a native hardwood tree will be planted – perhaps there will be a forest of Treehouses to explore one day!
