Top tips

Why not bring your bikes to enjoy lovely coastal cycle paths? There’s an on-site bike store to lock them away.
Be sure to try your hand at stone skimming on the local Weybourne Beach just a 10-minute walk from the cottages. Bring a kite for the cliff top breeze.
There are plenty of fun family days out including the North Norfolk Steam Railway just a 15-minute walk away - be sure not to miss a ride through to the seaside town of Sheringham!

The holiday cottages at Weybourne are traditional, North Norfolk brick and flint cottages and are available for short breaks (in low to mid season) and week-long stays throughout the year. They are furnished to be comfortable and well appointed with everything you need for a wonderful self-catering holiday. The cottages include all the usual facilities, are non-smoking. Some are unused by pets, four allow a dog. All beds are made up for your arrival and towels are provided for each guest.

Sleeping from two to seven guests, there are 16 cottages at Weybourne so there’s bound to be one to suit your family. With charming exteriors, cosy, characterful interiors plus a private patio or garden and private off-road parking, you’ll be immersed in coastal village living with plenty of homely touches to make your stay extra special. Many of the barn conversions have integrated modern living layouts so you get that functional, farmhouse feel. There are also cottage options for those with limited mobility including all ground floor cottages like Fleet which has a low threshold shower.

The cottages all have a mix of king-size and double bedrooms, twin bedroom, kitchen diner and lounge, while some have an extra double bedroom and ensuites, the smallest, Peewit just has a double and single bedroom perfect for families of two or three. Barnett’s and Narroogal are the largest, sleeping up to seven people between three bedrooms. Flintstone Barn and Old Flint Barn can sleep up to six, Bittern, Pegedy’s, and Fleet are perfect for families of five and the remaining eight cottages sleep up to four guests.

Cots, highchairs, fireguards and stair gates are provided if requested and are free of charge.

Eat

These self-catering cottages are fully equipped with everything you’ll need for your cosy, coastal retreat. Just a five minute walk away is Weybourne Stores, where you can shop all of your basic food supplies, toiletries, and newspapers but also stop by for a drink at its coffee bar which serves pastries, cakes, hot drinks, and picnic food. If the village shop doesn’t have everything you need, there are larger food outlets and supermarkets in both Holt and Sheringham, which are less than three miles from the cottages.

With gorgeous woodlands, gardens and coastlines right on your doorstep, a trip to Weybourne isn’t complete without a family picnic. Pack up some sandwiches and snacks and head down to Weybourne Beach or set up a picnic blanket on one of the lovely local walking trails. If you prefer to stay well away from the kitchen on your holiday, the local pub, Ship Inn is just around the corner serving fine ales and hot food most lunchtimes and evenings - perfect for cosy winter nights, summer snacks or a classic Sunday roast. Serving up local produce and beverages, they have a children’s menu too and you can also book takeaways if you fancy a family night in.

Just a few minutes walk away is the Maltings Hotel serving up small plates and seasonal sharers at lunch and dinner. They also have a breakfast menu if you want to fuel up to the day plus a Sunday menu and a kid’s menu.. Sally and Paul are also on hand to recommend local places to eat whether it be fish and chips on the beach, child-friendly food spots or special occasion dining experiences.

Activities

Weybourne Home Farm is a working farm growing sugar beet and malting barley nestling between the heath and coast on the edge of Weybourne village, away from the coast road. Sally and Paul, your hosts, live on site with their family - having brought up their family in the area, they are the ideal people to tell you the best beaches and days out in the surrounding area. They have put together local information, maps, books, magazines, puzzles and games to be used at your leisure.

The luxury indoor heated swimming pool provides endless entertainment all year round for families with kids. The children's outdoor play area is located behind the swimming pool and has loads of space with climbing frame, swings & picnic tables - Dads and Mums might even get to read a paper or book so you can all enjoy play time. There is also a playhouse with a nearby play track for little ones to push prams or tractors around. An indoor soft play area is available for babies and toddlers and the games room with pool and table tennis gives older kids some social space too. Not only are the children catered for there is an on site Beauty Room for some holiday pampering for parents too.

Being set within a coastal village, the sea is only a 10 minute walk away from the cottages. Weybourne Beach is your closest coastal walk and though it is not a bathing beach due to the deep water, there are plenty of pebbles to collect and it is a great spot to watch the local fishermen bring back their catch of the day. There are lots more coastal paths to explore the dramatic North Norfolk cliffs and local seal hotspots too! The places to visit are endless for families young and old. The best days out are the free ones and just a few minutes in the car are the sandy beaches at Sheringham, West Runton and Cromer. Slightly further afield you can enjoy the wide expanse of beaches at Holkham and Wells. In the other direction enjoy the simple pleasures like crabbing on Blakeney quay or take a trip to see the seals at Blakeney Point. You can of course hire a boat on the North Norfolk Broads for a slower paced day out.

You can hear the toot of the nearby steam railway in the distance so be prepared to book a ticket for a train ride on the North Norfolk Railway or Bure Valley Railway. Or why not take a trip to the Dinosaur Park, Pensthopre or Bewilderwood? On the edge of Weybourne, just 10 minutes walk from Home Farm, is a collection of 16 working tanks and over 3000 other military exhibits - the Muckleburgh Military Museum. This is a good half a day out for all generations, with a lot of local history too.

Accessibility

There are cottage options for those with limited mobility including all ground floor cottages like Fleet, Pegedy, Stable End and Plover which have low threshold showers and baths. Narroogal and Barnett’s include one bedroom, w/c and walk in shower, all on the ground floor.

We grew up here, went to school here, brought up our own (now fully grown!) family here. We often think about how lucky we are to be living in such a beautiful area. We love meeting people and sharing it with our guests, helping them get the best from their holiday. Lots of favourite things but maybe the simplest is the best - the walk from Weybourne to Sheringham on the coastal path. We do it once a week with our little dog Elsie. Fabulous views, watching the steam train chug in the distance, passing the windmill, coast guard houses, golf course and amazing views out to sea.

Owner recommendations

We have lots of great beaches close to us. Lets face it the best days out are the free ones! Weybourne beach is walkable from Home Farm. Our favourite beach, and there are lots to discover, is West Runton beach. As the tide goes out there is plenty of sand to go round but also rock pools. With the right footwear (!) hours of fun finding sealife under the rocks. One side of the beach is non doggy, the other dog friendly. Parking nearby, one cafe/shop and some loos. Finish your beach day at West Runton Village Inn for a cheeky pint! Lovely pub with big outside garden if the kids still have energy.
Blakeney Point Seal Trip. Great for all ages. Not too expensive for half a day out. Beautiful views looking back at the coast line.
Crabbing at Blakeney or Wells. We supply buckets and nets at Home Farm to borrow. This is great for all ages...especially competitve Dads! It is a cheap activity and keeps the kids amused for hours. Lovely settings, close to great cafes and shops.
The 'Big Days' out - Bewilderwood, Dinosaur Park and Pensthorpe. All have their merits. Bewilderwood for Primary school ages. Dinosaur Park up to 12's. Pensthorpe all ages - fab play area and closest to Home Farm.
Steam train to Sheringham, posh shopping in Holt, Cromer Pier, Coastal Walks, Bird watching, surfing, Norfolk Broads, Blicking and Holkham Hall...... plenty more - too many to mention!
