Tips from the owners

Local things to do, places to eat and attractions not to be missed.

  • Explore the River Dart on a tranquil boat cruise, hire canoes or bikes for the day, brave the high ropes, roll in the water zorbs or splash about on the river obstacles.

  • An excellent attraction for young families is Pennywell Farm – activities include animal petting and feeding, animal races and pond dipping.

  • 14th Century Compton Castle has a dramatic fortified manor house and small formal garden, and is only a five minute walk away.

  • Paignton Zoo is certainly one of the best in Europe – walk through the desert, savannah, tropics and forest, all without leaving Devon!

  • Breakwater Beach, Brixham is one of the best locally with cafe, family activities and scuba diving.
