Due to the age of the property, access for wheelchair users is restricted. The property is accessed by two sets of three steps. The bedrooms are located on the first and second floors.

Where is it and how do you get there?

By road

Derwent House can be easily accessed via the M1. Take junction 28 if you’re coming from the south and 29 from the north.

By rail

Matlock station is just a 10 minute walk from Derwent House.

By air

Doncaster Sheffield, and East Midlands airports are both less than an hours drive away. Manchester airport is around 1hr 15 minutes drive.

Damien

We have owned Derwent House since 2007, opening in 2008 after an extensive renovation. Since then we continue to make ongoing additions and improvements to provide excellent accommodation. It is important to us that guests enjoy their time with us and we are delighted that this is reflected in our feedback.

  • Crich Tramway museum has tram rides throughout the day and many themed events during the year.

  • Padley Gorge, offers stunning walks and is an ideal way to spend a few hours playing and paddling on a warm day.

  • Heights of Abraham cable car, park and cave will suit older children perfectly.

  • Gulliver's Kingdom, a great adventure park for younger children.

  • Alton Towers is approximately a 30 minute drive for thrill seekers.

  • Chatsworth House is a historic must-see.
