T
he characterful School House has a rich history that has been honoured in its beautiful renovation. Expect to find unusual curved wood doors, exposed brick, original wooden beams in the double height living room and gorgeous cast iron radiators throughout. The interiors are contemporary, yet suitable to the old building. A brilliant garden room can be found alongside the kitchen-dining room and offers guests a space to relax, chat or admire the countryside views whilst preparing delicious dinners. A generous utility room is great for hiding away extra food supplies or cleaning up post-walk muddy clothing. There’s a dining table in the kitchen, or if you fancy something a little more formal, a large table is set up in the beautiful living-dining room. But the pièce de résistance is the bright and airy living room, flooded with light and warmth. It’s the perfect spot for a summer’s evening drink, or wrapping up under blankets in front of the fire. Open the doors directly onto your own half acre of private garden, with a fire pit and dining table.
The School House sleeps up to eight guests in four delightful bedrooms, split equally across the two floors. Downstairs you’ll find a bunk room ideal for children and a small, but perfectly formed double bedroom with adjacent bathroom. Upstairs the primary bedroom and a twin room feature unique vaulted ceilings and views over the surrounding countryside. The primary bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, lots of built-in storage and an extremely comfortable super king size bed. The spacious twin room boasts steel framed beds, fresh cotton linens and stylish furnishings. In total there are two bathrooms and an additional toilet off the utility room.
