Spacious child friendly cottages of great character can accommodate families from 2 up to 12 +cot. There is lots to do on-site with a fully equipped games room and 4 acres of enclosed grounds to explore, an outdoor play area, age appropriate toy boxes, outdoor games and a DVD/video library. With thoughtful touches such as a welcome tray of local goodies and access to a “baby and toddler rescue cupboard” for forgotten necessities you know that you will find a warm welcome here.
The award winning self-catering holiday cottages were converted from 17th century farm buildings and restyled to a contemporary Cumbrian design, using local artists and craftsmen to create elegant, cosy interiors with the spacious living areas making the most of the panoramic views and vaulted ceilings.
Smart TVs provide kid-friendly channels for some quiet time while fibre broadband keeps you as connected as you might want to be with the outside world.
Wooden cots (with duvet or blankets), highchairs, and stairgates can all be booked in advance and set up for your arrival. And don't worry if you run out of space in the car - Monkhouse Hill have thoughtfully provided a baby and toddler rescue cupboard that contains just about everything you could think of - baby monitor sets, nightlights, bed protectors, baby bath, potty, playpen, backpack carrier, pushchair, bouncy chair, fireguards and lots more. All can be borrowed free of charge (subject to availability).
Each cottage has a small patio area in the courtyard, with garden tables, chairs and barbecue equipment available, to enjoy al fresco dining in the stunning surroundings.
If booked together the cottages can accommodate up to 46 guests - it's a perfect location for family or friends wishing to holiday together.
