What we think

"My memory of Puddleduck though is the gentleness of it all - intermittently broken with a goat calling or the ducks quacking or the cockerel letting all know he’s there, or your child shrieking with delight - in either case all are very pleasant sounds - but there is quiet and I really appreciated it - we shall go back for more of all of the above."

Listed since April 2015

As 40-somethings we remember playing outside until dusk and family holidays where you could climb trees, go rock pooling and fishing with your parents. As new parents we struggled to find this, so we built it ourselves. We set out to create a place where families could holiday together; children could play in safety in woodlands and fields and Mum and Dad could relax or join in with simple but fun but educational nature and farm based activities. We hope you'll join us in our little slice of paradise.

  • Dunsland Park National Trust site next door is perfect for a picnic.

  • For a busy town based beach head for Summerleaze, or for rock pooling, beach coming and amazing rock formations try Sandymouth.

  • Aim and fire at Dragon Archery, just 5 minutes drive.

  • The nearby beaches at Bude, Widemouth and Sandymouth (around 25min drive) are all famous surfing beaches with RNLI lifeguards, and also great for a spot of bodyboarding
