About this place

Best bits

  • See the best of the lagoon by hiring rowing boats, canoes, kayaks or paddle boards.
  • Keep kids entertained with several boxes of children's toys available for babies upwards.
  • The specially decorated child's bedroom is very cute with low, shorty bunks suitable for toddlers to pre-teens.

Top tips

  • No need to bring travel cots – two cots with extra soft mattresses are provided.
  • Don’t forget wellies for splashing about in muddy puddles on the Miss Mouse Nature Trail.
  • Save boot space and leave your pushchair at home as you have a choice of two to borrow from the house.

About the owners

Listed since July 2009

We bought Goose Nest House having stayed at Lower Mill Estate ourselves. We were blown away with the family-friendly nature of the Estate and felt this was an ideal place to bring our, then, young family. Those happy family holiday memories are very precious and we wanted to share our experience so other families could have those too.

Owner recommendations

  • Take the kids on a Aquaventure – a giant inflatable waterpark at Cotswold Country Park and Beach, a five minute drive away.

  • Walk the cobbled streets of Cirencester, sampling its wonderful parks, gardens and antiques market, just a 20 minute drive way.

  • The Goose Nest is a great base for day trips to Bath, Bristol or Oxford – all within an hours' drive.

  • Get up close and personal with some amazing wildlife at RSPB's Slimbridge.

  • Marvel at the giraffes, rhinos and tigers at Cotswold Wildlife Park, about half an hour’s drive away – don’t miss the miniature train.
