Glamping near Blackpool and Lytham St Annes - cosy pods, large open spaces and easy access to the attractions of Blackpool and the beautiful coastline at Lytham St Annes - Stanley Villas offers families the chance to get away from it all and gather round campfires, with a few added luxuries such as real beds, firepits, and a wooden communal lodge for washing, making hot drinks and playing a board game.

Great for individual families or small groups of friends (3 pods maximum), the pods are set around a large open field perfect for playing ball games or watching the kids play while you relax by the fire.

The Site

We spent a wonderful weekend here celebrating 2 birthdays and the setting was perfect. The owner, Alex, made the booking process easy and ensured our pods were next to each other. We also had space for an additional marquee tent for us to use for our gathering.

The car park is right next to the pods area so getting all our kit set up was stress free (tip: bring torches if you come in the evening as it does get dark) and our pre-ordered firewood was ready and waiting for us so we could get the campfires going straight away. Alex’s beautiful puppy Pip was a real hit with the kids too.

The site was great for the children - loads of space to run around and play right in front of the pods so we could keep a close eye on them whilst cooking and chatting. We also made use the on-site lodge for washing up indoors (a camping luxury!) and brewing up. Our older children also spent time hanging out and keeping warm in the lodge room.

There is a small mini-pod that houses outdoor games such as badminton, swing ball and rounders that are free to borrow, although our tribe were content with a football and playing tig. Dogs are welcome on leads.

There are a few pubs nearby which serve food but we stayed on-site, adding a take-away from the local Indian restaurant to our birthday cakes.

And so to bed...

Each of the 24 insulated pods comes with 2 single beds and enough floor space for a double blow up mattress. There’s lighting inside and a fire pit/BBQ outside. Firewood can be bought on site. Our family took sleeping mats for the kids, while others took mattresses. I was pretty envious of those that thought to bring duvets instead of sleeping bags, and getting the kids to quieten down was probably the hardest task the whole weekend but we all settled down to a decent sleep.

Facilities

The showers in the lodge were warm and clean, and there are toilets here and adjacent to the pod field, all of which were clean. The lodge room kitchen was great for washing up, chatting to fellow campers and making a cup of something warm from the free tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There is also an on-site fishing lake- just bring your licence and kit along and fish for free. Whilst none of us are anglers the lake is calm and peaceful, especially in the morning where I sat and had 10 minutes with a cuppa while the rest of my gang slept in and in the evenings it’s the perfect place to watch the sunset.
