How to get there:
You can book a direct flight to Paphos from various major UK airports including London Gatwick, London Luton, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh. Or fly to Larnaca from London Heathrow, London Gatwick or Liverpool.
Aphrodite Hills will help you book your transfer from Paphos or Larnaca to the resort - and for some villas the cost of this will be included in the price (see accommodation options below).
Set in gorgeous unspoilt hills with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea, this is a beautiful setting for a holiday. There’s a huge amount to do within the Aphrodite Hills resort; plenty of on-site facilities and activities as mentioned below.
Bicycle hire is available and there are some pretty walks to go on. Should you wish to venture outside the resort then there’s a choice of two nearby sandy and pebbly beaches for seaside fun. There are two beach clubs run by the hotel which are open during the summer season.
There are some lovely opportunities to soak up the Cypriot culture in the local area. There are several monasteries, and mountain villages, to visit which are within drivable distance from the resort. Museums in both Limassol and Paphos offer a contrast to time spent at the beach or swimming pool; Paphos boasts a beautiful harbour where you can sample local cuisine in one of the waterside restaurants. Paphos and Limassol each have water parks for fun family day trips.
There are over 650 villas and apartments set in eight ‘villages’ within the resort – this variety of luxury self-catering properties suit the different needs and budgets of different families. Here’s the lowdown:
‘The Mythos Collection’ villas
There are three ‘Mythos Collection’ extra luxury villas at the highest end of accommodation options; each boasting four or five bedrooms, up to seven bathrooms, a fully heated private pool and beautiful views across the Mediterranean Sea. Guests staying in these villas can expect a delicious food hamper on arrival, a complimentary breakfast basket each morning, branded bathroom toiletries, daily cleaning of the villa, and private transfer to/from the airport. Mythos Collection villa guests get access to the fabulous Retreat Spa (gym, pool, sauna and steam room).
Elite villas are super luxurious and are available in various sizes: 2 bedrooms, 3 bedrooms, 4 bedrooms or 5 bedrooms. Equipped to a high standard with modern appliances, guests of Elite villas enjoy a welcome hamper on arrival (including champagne), pool privileges, private airport transfers and access to the Retreat Spa.
These luxury villas offer between 2 and 5 bedrooms, are lovely and spacious, situated throughout the resort and can be booked for up to ten people to stay in. Guests of these villas enjoy a delicious food parcel (for bookings of seven nights or more), a kitchen cleaning pack, mid-stay cleaning, delightful self-catering with all modern amenities.
Stays in junior villas offer classic luxury. They are semi-detached or detached, have 2 or 3 bedrooms and can house up to six people. You can choose to book one with its own pool, or opt for one with access to a communal pool.
The resort’s luxury apartments have spectacular sweeping views of the gorgeous surrounding landscape. They each offer a private balcony terrace, air conditioning, a TV and DVD player and use of a lovely on-site communal pool. A variety of apartment sizes are available - 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms - and the largest ones are for a maximum of six people.
There’s a long and detailed list of baby equipment available from Aphrodite Hills: these items can be hired at a cost, and on a daily or weekly basis, and include everything from pushchairs to bouncy seats to sterilisers.
All the villas and apartments at Aphrodite Hills have well equipped kitchens, plus there’s an on-site supermarket, so you can make your own meals. Or you can pop to one of the many on-site restaurants, most of which are fully family-friendly. They’re open according to seasonal demand. You can choose from:
Anoi Pub for salads, pasta, burgers, steak and more
Pithari Tavern for traditional Cypriot food including delicious meze, halloumi, feta, moussaka, seabass and so on
Gold Club House (closed for refurbishment until Feb 2018) for breakfast, brunch, sandwiches, pasta and salads
Italian restaurant for salads, pizza and pasta (closed for Winter)
Cypriot Kebab House for kebabs, souvlaki and traditional Greek dishes (closed for Winter)
There are so many opportunities for family fun times around the resort. Swimming is an obvious draw for many people – the weather is delightful for a large part of the year. If travelling out of the spring and summer season there are options to hire villas with heated pools: enquire direct with Aphrodite Hills about this when booking.
A baby creche offers care for the under threes; and there is a kids’ club for three to twelve year olds: both of these come at an additional cost (chargeable per hour) but you get 5 hours’ worth of the kids’ club free per property per week. The kids’ club/baby creche offer shaded play areas, an outdoor adventure playground and arts, crafts, dance and sport activities.
For those families wishing to have a super active holiday, the resort offers horse riding, tennis and football coaching. For grown-ups there’s also an 18 hole world class golf course, and a gorgeous spa.
For relaxing beach times, there are two good options for close-by beaches. Cove Beach Club of Aphrodite Hills is a stone’s throw from the resort; and a short 15km drive takes you to Avdimou Bay which is the location of the Zias Beach Club run by the resort.
Finally, there’s free wifi around the resort should you wish to post some envy-inducing snaps on social media…!
