Crieff Hydro is all geared up for wheelchairs. The main hotel is easy to manoeuvre around with three lifts, spacious restaurants, wide corridors and even an pool lift if you fancy a dip.

Where is it and how do you get there?

By rail

The nearest railway station is Gleneagles (only 11 miles away), followed by Perth or Dunblane. There is also a bus service to Crieff, with the closest stop less than a mile away.

By road

If you're coming by car and have a trusty sat nav, simply enter PH7 3LQ. Crieff is situated around an hour from both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

By air

Glasgow and Edinburgh airports are the closest, and the hotel can arrange airport pick-ups for a charge.

Crieff Hydro is very much a family business. In fact I am the great-great-great-grandnephew of the founder Dr Meikle. Not only do our family live on the estate, my wife, Fiona, and son, Richard, are working in the business too.

  • A five minute drive from Crieff village is Drummond Castle Gardens – some of the finest gardens in Europe.

  • Crieff is right at the heart of Scotland making it easy to get out and explore both countryside and cities.

  • Auchingarrich wildlife park is a lovely day out, with over 50 different species of animals, plus indoor and outdoor play areas, pony rides, fly fishing plus gift shop and cafe.

  • Visit Scotland’s oldest distillery, The Famous Grouse distillery.
