Golden Valley is a fantastic choice for family camping. The secluded woodland campsite is set within 26 acres of beautiful woodland in Derbyshire and contains super pitches for caravans and ample room for tents. On-site play areas and games room will keep kids happy whatever the weather, little extras for the grown-ups include a gym and jacuzzi. With beautiful Derbyshire countryside on your doorstep, and major attractions and cities to visit nearby, boredom is banished.

There is a good sized disabled toilet and walk-in shower. Assistance is needed for wheelchair users to access the top wood as it is up a steep hill.

Where is it and how do you get there?

By road

Golden Valley campsite is nestled in a small hamlet just 15 minutes from junction 27 of the M1.

By rail

Alfreton Station is a 10 minute taxi ride from the campsite.

By air

East Midlands airport is just over 30 minutes from the site. Birmingham and Doncaster airports are both around an hour away.

  • Thrill seekers will be desperate for a day out at Alton Towers theme park, just 50 minutes drive from the site.

  • Chatsworth House and Gardens is beautiful any time of year for walks and wanders, indoor and out.

  • Matlock Bath is a great destination - a beautiful town in its own right, with The Heights of Abraham and Gullivers Kingdom attractions on its doorstep.

  • Have fun on the heritage train rides, and explore the museums, model railways and outdoor play areas at Midland Railway - within walking distance of Golden Valley.

  • Head out for a walk along the canal to Codnor Reservoir.
