Lee Wick Farm is perfectly placed in North Essex for families to relax in the natural environment. It's also a great base to explore the local area and beaches. Stroll through the nature reserve to the beach, splash about in the local aqua park, or have some good old fashioned seaside fun at Clacton on Sea. Head back in your tired and sandy state to gorgeous glamping cabins, with hot tubs, private toilets and showers, and comfy beds.

Top tips

You'll need to bring your own bedding and towels.
Do take a torch for the evenings, wellies in the colder months, and layers to keep cosy all year round.
Sun cream for hot days, mosquito repellant for evenings in the summer can be useful.

Whichever glamping option you choose you’ll be staying in beautiful accommodation, with private outside space complete with seating, BBQ, firepit and stunning views. Inside you’ll find cleverly arranged living and sleeping spaces, a small kitchen area and toilet, sink and shower. Megapod 1 has the shower outside - solar powered and in your own little privacy shed. Log fired hot tubs are available to book with all units.

Cargopods and Megapods sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children in a double bed and double sofa bed. They are lovely spaces both inside and out. Lushna cabins have floor to ceiling glass to maximise the stunning panoramic coastal views. The Lushna Mezzanine Suite is the largest of all the properties with a downstairs double sofa bed and 3 single mattresses on the Mezzanine. Lushna Petites have a double bed with a sleeping platform for 2 above.

Eat

All of the glamping properties are self catering with options for both indoor and outdoor family meals. Each has a small kitchen area with sink, toaster, kettle, fridge and microwave, and crockery and cutlery. Cargopods and Lushna suites also have two ring electric induction hobs.

There is a pub serving food nearby, and a local shop. Supermarkets are a 10-15 minute drive away in Clacton, and there are take-away restaurants that will deliver to the site. Ask to buy some of the farm grown potatoes fresh from the field - or head to a chippy and you’ll probably be eating them anyway!

Activities

The main activity at Lee Wick will be relaxing. Watch the sunset, and chilling out on your decking area. Take a short walk through the nature reserve to the sand and pebble beach - perfect for a gentle and peaceful stroll. If you have your own fishing gear you can make use of the farms two reservoirs which are a short drive from the glamping properties.

By Road

Lee Wick Farm is less than 45 minutes from Colchester, just outside of St Osyth.

By Air

Stansted is the nearest airport and is around 45 minutes drive from the farm.

By Rail

There are stations at both Great Bentley and Clacton on Sea, both around 15 minutes away.

About the owners

Emma & Rob

Listed since September 2013

Rob has spent most of his career in the potato industry, only venturing into self-catering in 2008. Saying that he does have a rudimentary grasp of tourism knowledge having worked in a kiosk on the local beach selling ice-creams during his school summer holidays. You'll find him around the farm exporting potatoes most days when he isn't overseeing the sites maintenance.

The local nature reserve leads on to the beach which is a beautiful place for walking and playing.
Clacton Pier is great for a fun day out, along with miles of sandy beaches along the coast.
The local Curve Aqua Park offers inflatables to play on, paddle boarding and wake boarding.
Hasty's Farm is perfect for younger children with small animals to pet and learn about farming.
Colchester Zoo is a 30 minute drive away and is well recommended for a family day out.
Colchester Castle is great for all ages to explore the ancient Roman history of the town.
