One of the first family and child-focussed farm-stays in England, Tredethick continues to set a fine standard in family holiday accommodation, fantastic children's facilities and a genuinely warm welcome. Children will love the freedom to explore this place - parents will love being able to let them do so. There are spaces perfect for year round activity and animals galore, all in a safe and managed environment. Whatever the time of year, whatever the weather, you will be entertained…

Set on a working arable and sheep farm in the Fowey Valley, Tredethick is a complex of 8 award winning, family friendly cottages, sleeping from 2 to 6 plus a cot. If you are looking for a safe and happy environment that both parents and children can enjoy you've found it - in truly idyllic surroundings Tredethick strives to exceed all expectations for a fabulous family holiday.

Child Friendly Cottages

All cottages are child friendly with many of them being on one level, but where there are stairs, stair gates are provided. Good quality, full sized wooden cots, highchairs, bed-guards and blackout blinds are available.

The attention to detail in the cottages has been carefully considered from the high standard of décor to the fully equipped kitchen including your own washer/dryer.

In both Liddicoat and Scantlebury there's a galleried loft bedroom, accessed by a ladder from the living area, with a low ceiling and a single bed which we recommend for kids of ten years or more.

Excellent Facilities for Kids

The large indoor heated swimming pool, complete with children's play equipment and stunning views over the Fowey valley, is open from 6.30am until 10 pm every day. For your own peace of mind the security access system makes it impossible for children to enter unattended. The indoor soft play room is ideal for children from 12 months to 12 years. The vinyl covered foam padded floor and walls make it extremely safe.

The outdoor adventure play area has been designed for older children and has swings, slides, rope net ladders, bridges and monkey bars. Those with endless energy can bounce themselves out on the huge trampoline with safety enclosure. The well-heated games room which was converted from an old barn has table tennis, snooker and table football plus a fantastic sandpit with climbing frame for toddlers. All the children's facilities are no more than two minutes walk from your cottage, but far enough away from the cottage gardens to preserve your peace & tranquillity.

Children love cycling around the cottages so take your bikes along, or hire them from the cycle trails - undercover storage is on site. There is a purpose-built balance bike track offers the perfect opportunity for little ones to develop their bike handling skills. Its rural design is sure to capture the imagination of youngsters from 18 months to 7 years. Parents can rest assured the track is traffic-free, and there’s seating for grown-ups to watch their intrepid mini farmers while enjoying beautiful views of the Fowey Valley.

The owners are a wealth of information and as keen walkers will give you ideas for the best pushchair friendly walks in the area, from sheltered wooded valleys to spectacular coastline and wild open moorland.

Special Additional Extras that parents will love

The secure communal garden has a 6-seater hot tub for guests to enjoy. It has been landscaped beautifully making the most of the great southerly views across open fields and farmland and has a wonderful swinging cocoon hammock and rotating sphere lounger to relax in too.

Tredethick Farm offers short breaks from the beginning of November until the end of May, either 3 nights from a Friday or 4 nights from a Monday.
