What we think

"One of the first family and child-focussed farm-stays in England, Tredethick continues to set a fine standard in family holiday accommodation, fantastic children's facilities and a genuinely warm welcome. Children will love the freedom to explore this place - parents will love being able to let them do so. There are spaces perfect for year round activity and animals galore, all in a safe and managed environment. Whatever the time of year, whatever the weather, you will be entertained…"

Tips from the owners

Local things to do, places to eat and attractions not to be missed.

  • Polkerris beach is a great child-friendly beach with fantastic facilities including Sam’s on the Beach, a funky family restaurant.

  • The world-class Eden Project with huge tropical and Mediterranean biomes isn’t too far – and is well worth a visit.

  • Take a buggy-friendly riverside walk through Respryn Woods, leading to the National Trust’s Lanhydrock House, gardens and cafe.

  • Enjoy the many woodland cycle trails at Lanhydrock. There’s a cycle hub you can hire bikes with baby seats and tagalongs. And a café and play area.

  • Restormel Castle is a wonderful place for children to run around and explore.

  • Fowey, where the river meets the sea, is a charming town with great shops and eateries, plus boat hire, ferry trips and pontoons for dangling crab-lines.

  • Explore the area’s abundant history at nearby St Dogmaels Abbey, Cilgerran Castle and the restored Cardigan Castle grounds and museum - the home of the first Eisteddfod amongst other places of interest locally.
