Top tips

Pre-order a supermarket delivery and arrive to a fully-stocked kitchen.
You’ll need solid shoes or wellies for the scenic walks around the beautiful Derbyshire countryside.
Pack light on the baby equipment. There is plenty of baby and toddler gear available to borrow including cots and highchairs at no extra charge.

There are five cottages at Nether Burrows Farm. All artfully combining modern luxury with traditional country feel. You’ll find hot tubs, log burners, sleek bathrooms, underfloor heating and open plan living spaces. The Farmhouse is a elegant double fronted house sleeping up to 10 guests in five bedrooms. The Sunshine Cottage sleeps up to 10 guests across four bedrooms, including a family room.

The Pig Barn sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms. Whilst the large and lovely Willow Barn and Meadow View both 14 guests in seven bedrooms each, including a mix of ensuite double rooms, twin and family rooms. Large groups of up to 52 can celebrate special occasions in style by booking out the whole complex.

Eat

All five cottages are self-catering with well-equipped kitchens and kitchen diners. Book a food delivery to arrive when you do. There are large dining rooms in each for everything from family breakfast to special occasion dinners. On sunny days, head out and find a quiet spot in the grounds for your morning coffee. There’s also plenty of space for picnics (look out for farm animal themed picnic areas!), with picnic kits available too.

If you want to take a break from cooking, try the highly recommended local caterer. The staff at Nether Burrow Farm would be happy to put you in touch. Alternatively, head out for lunch or dinner at one of the local country pubs.

Activities

The list of family activities and equipment is endless. There’s the outdoor play area, kids cave, kids activity packs, football nets and footballs, DVD players, a football table, ping pong table and pool table. Of course Adults can enjoy all of this too, but may also be pleased to hear that hot tubs are available.

Offsite there are countryside walking and cycling routes waiting to be explored. Be sure to bring your waterproof, boots and binoculars. There is nature in abundance all around the Peak District and Derbyshire. Little nature fans will be in their elements.

The cottages are easily accessible from the charming cottage of Kirk Langely, Derbyshire.

By Air

East Midlands Airport is half an hour’s drive away. You’ll find international and domestic flights from there.

By Rail

Derby Train Station is only 20 minutes away with taxis available from there to the cottages. And connections to many of UK’s major cities.

Markeaton Park is Derby’s most visited park and is one of the most popular attractions in the East Midlands. It offers a place to escape from day to day living and city life and experience a little bit of countryside on Derby’s doorstep.
Wild Park Derbyshire is a family run outdoor activity centre for paintballing, laser tag, quad biking, trekking and archery. Book ahead to avoid disappointment!
If you enjoy food and cooking why not spend a day with Seasoned Cookery School who offer courses in everything from ‘Best of British’ to ‘Indian Entertaining’. For groups, the school will also come to the cottages, so you can make the most of your stay whilst learning how to make delicious canapes or chocolates.
